DIY Sandalwood FACIAL SCRUB

You don’t have to break the bank trying to buy expensive facial scrubs loaded with questionable ingredients when you can do it yourself and still achieve better results using harmless natural ingredients.

Facial Scrubbing is a gentle circular motion done with the fingers or the palm on the face or neck region. It is one of the most important beauty skincare routines to adopt, it helps keep the skin healthy, beautiful, youthful, soft and clearer. To get the best out of any facial scrub, choose the one that suits your skin type.

That is the reason to customize it using the best natural ingredients suitable for your skin type. When you scrub, the small coarse particles contained in some of the ingredients help to get rid of old skin cells, giving way to newer cells. This process is called Exfoliation, it makes other skin treatments work better as the skin will have the ability to absorb nutrients. This process is what makes the face look smoother, clearer and softer.

Facial scrubbing should be done once or twice a week depending on the sensitivity of the skin. If your skin reacts to facial products with the appearance of breakouts, bumps, redness, itchiness, peeling and soreness, then scrubbing might irritate the skin more. Another method of exfoliation should be adopted. You choose your ingredients based on the benefits you want to achieve on your skin.

For the purpose of this blog, we are making Sandalwood Facial Scrub. This is a mixture of dry powdered herbs, roots and flowers, made into paste with either yogurt, rose water or tomato paste. Let us have a look at the benefits of the ingredients used in our DIY Sandalwood Facial Scrub.
